The puma, cougar, mountain lion, or panther,
are all names for the same feline, Felis Concolor. Primarily a solitary cat the
Puma hunts alone and his territory can cover up to 25 square miles. Territories
of the female and male may overlap, but the territory of same sex Pumas will
not.
When stalking and attacking their prey, pumas have extraordinary jumping abilities
with running jumps up to 40 feet and vertical leaps up to 18.
I’ve always had an affinity for big cats and am awed by their beauty, strength,
and agility. They are, therefore, one of my most favorite subjects. The pursuit
is on.
