As
a child I often wondered and somehow hoped that centaurs really did exist. What
an amazing creature he must be to have the mind and intellect of a human and
the magnificent body of a horse with its grace, speed, and agility.
Chiron, the Greek god, was the most famous centaur and the mentor of many
great figures from Greek mythology including Hercules. He was also known as Sagittarius
and was a gifted scholar, physician, hunter, and healer and is ruled by the king
of planets, Jupiter. Born under the sign of Sagittarius I was driven to create
this piece perhaps in hopes of better understanding myself. If centaurs do exist
they must be off somewhere with unicorns and dragons.
